ATV accessories, including kits, ramps, blasters, dump carts,  that allow you to enjoy your new or used atvs

The one thing to always keep in mind when adding anything to your ATV is to make sure that the accessory is compatible with your vehicle.  Some ATV accessories described below include:  lift kits, ramps, carriers, snow plows, and cab enclosures.

Lift Kits:

People usually purchase lift kits in order to have enough clearance with fenders and other parts of their ATVs.  You can purchase ATV lift kits from about $80 up to $150.  You can usually raise your ATV about 2” if you have stock tires.  With oversized tires, you can increase the height by about 4 inches.

Some consider lift kits essential for tires that are 28” or taller.  In addition, there are also “light lifts” available for your ATV.  For just over $30, the Honda “light lift” can provide better lighting and reduce glare by raising your ATV’s central headlight over 2 or 3 inches.  For about 3 times the price of the light lift, you can purchase a light kit, which allows you to see in the direction that you’re steering instead of having to wait until your ATV is turned around.

Ramps:

If you’re just interested in moving your ATV from one location to another, a ramp may be something to invest in.  Instead of investing in a new ATV trailer, many people simply get themselves an ATV ramp to drive up and onto the trucks they already own. 2 track sets (1400 lbs) can start anywhere from just over $150 up to $450.  The cost increases with the length and weight of the ramp.

Another option is the tri-folding ramp, which ranges from just over $200 up to just over $250.  They are multi-purpose accessories that can be used for ATVs, motorcycles, etc.  A third kind of ramp is the centerfold, which can hold up to 1200 lbs.  From just under $250 up to about $300 this ramp can weigh up to about 60 lbs. and is intended for high platforms. If you want to customize your ramps and/or be able to drive up heavier vehicles, you might consider logging on to sites such as www.motorcyclecity.com

Adjustable ramps are also available for convenient height adjustment. Most ramps are available in steel or aluminum.  Looking for a good price? There are sites that offer ATV ramps at discount prices. You can find  dual runner, dual folding, tri-fold, and bi-fold ramps among others.  In deciding what is best for you, you might want to consider how much you want to spend, how much storage space you have, what length you will need, how much weight you expect to be able to carry, and what kind of material would be best for where you live (keep in mind when purchasing your ATV ramp that the ramp could get slippery if it snows or rains).

Carriers:

Another option for moving your ATV is the ATV carrier. Two things to consider are: 1) how much more space you need, and 2) the amount of weight that the carrier will need to support.  This may help you determine if a rack, carrier, or trailer would be more appropriate.  The majority of ATV carriers are suitable for the class III or IV hitch.  While most class III hitches are appropriate for 500 lbs, class IV hitches are good to support 700-1000 lbs.  If you purchase a ramp that goes along with the carrier, it may be possible to slide the ramp right onto the carrier. Perhaps you just need to extend the bed of your truck.  In that case, an ATV carrier by ATVantage Outdoors may be a better choice for you.  Its carrier can hold over 400
lbs.

It weighs nearly 45 lbs and its platform is just under 50”, which is enough to provide an extra 3-4 feet of space.  This carrier is in the mid-$100 range and is more affordable if all you need is a little more space. This product is said to be suitable for all truck makes and models.  Many ATV carriers include some kind of warranty (i.e. 90-day factory warranty); be sure to ask about what is available.

Snow plows:

If you find yourself constantly having to shovel up snow, pick up gravel or dirt, you may want to consider purchasing an ATV (or all terrain) snow plow.  With a snow blade attachment, snow can be broken down more easily instead of having it caught on the blade.  The ATV snow plow is generally 48’’, 50”, 54”, or 60’’ wide and 1/8” thick of corrugated steel that facilitates breaking the snow.  Don’t forget to make sure that the plow you are interested in fits your ATV.  A new ATV snow plow starts at approximately $200-300.  Your concern may be that your ATV snow plow will chip or damage your expensive concrete or brick.

However, there are blade guards available to prevent such damage from occurring.  One can expect to pay around $50 for the guard alone. If you are still not satisfied with the plow you own, perhaps a rubber plow blade extension can help you.  This extension adds about 6 inches to your plow blade.  There are also weight bars available that allow you to increase the weight of your plow in order to help you with your seasonal or daily tasks. When purchasing these plow extensions, make sure they are compatible with your ATV snow plow.

Cab Enclosures:

You have just purchased your new or used ATV.  The weekend comes and you’re ready to take it for a ride, but as soon as you step outside,it starts pouring.  What do you do?  Well, the ATV cab enclosure can make rainy, snowy, and even windy days enjoyable by keeping annoying weather conditions out of your reach.  The ATV cab enclosure comes with a cabin cover and frame.  With just about every part that you buy for your ATV you need to make sure that it fits your specific vehicle.

However, you don’t need to worry about getting the right cab frame size for your ATV because the universal cab frame works with any sized 4-wheel ATV.  An ATV cab enclosure (frame included) can cost just under $200. You may want to ask yourself some questions when selecting your ATV cab enclosure.  Is the cab enclosure light enough to prevent it from being top heavy?   Is it abrasion, mildew, and ultra-violet resistant? Are certain parts (like the windows) replaceable or would I need to purchase another cab enclosure entirely?  Many ATV cab enclosures have a nylon cover, which are often coated with polyurethane to keep away water.  Visibility is vital so make sure that your cab enclosure has large enough windows and doors.
